Just what is fiction anyway? Fiction is defined as a literary work based on the imagination and not necessarily on fact. That alone makes writing for me so much more fun than say, writing a technical manual on how a leaf blower works.

I have written several books over the years. Some of them will never see the light of day, forever destined to live on the bookshelves that house everything I love to read or have written. There are others that I have great hopes for; we will have to wait to see what destiny awaits these stories.

Someone asked me the other day, what is it that makes a writer? I had to think about that for a minute and finally found an answer that didn’t make me sound completely nuts. "Writers have something to say - or worse, something remembered and have the stamina needed to put it on paper."

Being from a family of mostly women and now raising a family of mostly men, there are times when I need to find that feminine romantic place that once existed in real life. What I mean by that is that feeling of first love, you know what I mean, that stomach turning - can't sleep for thinking first love. We all want to have our stomachs turned, no matter how old we get. I get to enjoy the remembrance of falling in love everything I open my notebook and get lost in the latest story.

I personally love suspense, so put romance and suspense together and you will find my favorite type of book, both to read and to write.
